LOUISE PRINGLE - UNIQUE JEWELLERY

Louise's designs have evolved into creating vintage pieces which are full of charms, keys, cufflinks and anything else she likes the look of. This is now the signature 'look' of her work.  She especially enjoys upcycling vintage jewellery in her work.

'It is pleasing to see something which no longer has much use or appeal given a new lease of life.  Using vintage and old jewellery means you are working with original material and no two pieces are the same. This always makes the outcome of the design that little bit more exiting.'

My Jewellery can be seen in the most unique places such as the British Museum, Russell Square, London, Edinburgh Castle and The Royal Collection, St. James Palace, London..wonderful places for such unique pieces! Proudly I have managed to have one of my signature bracelets featured in Vogue and Grazia magazine and  many other publications over the years..

POSTCARDS FROM HOME  by MAGS MACFARLANE

Born in Port Seton, Mags grew up amongst the fishing and mining communities of the local area.
She graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1972, and, after a couple of years grace, she took a post-graduate teaching qualification at Moray House, before beginning a long and rewarding career in Art & Design teaching in Edinburgh & the Lothians.

Following her retirement in 2004, she has spent time exploring her own creativity. Her appetite for developing skills in different media has led her to embrace a rich variety of approaches.
In recent years, she has evolved a unique marriage of traditional and digital techniques.

As the title of the exhibition suggests, her visual imagination is fed by experiences of home. The Seashore Gallery is adjacent to the places where her ancestors worked and played. Her imagination draws on the wealth of imagery she finds in her surroundings, in the events and experiences of everyday life, from the mundane to the memorable, from the sorrowful to the joyful, from the past to the present.

In every sense, these small scale works are Postcards from Home, from the hills, woodlands and coastlines of life's rich tapestry.
